Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an Apple Music subscription?
Apple Music catalog search is designed to work for both subscribers and non-subscribers. An internet connection and permission to access Apple Music are required for catalog features. Results, recently played content, metadata, artwork, and preview availability can vary by Apple Account, song, storefront, and region.
Why can’t Metronome++ find a BPM for a song?
Automatic BPM analysis requires an analyzable song preview from Apple Music. Some songs or regions do not provide a preview, and some recordings cannot be analyzed reliably. You can enter a BPM manually or use Tap Tempo instead.
How accurate is the automatic BPM result?
The result is an estimate generated from an available song preview, not official studio metadata. Syncopation, tempo changes, half-time or double-time feel, quiet passages, and short previews can affect the result. If it feels incorrect, adjust it, enter a value manually, or use Tap Tempo.
How do I allow Apple Music access?
Start an Apple Music search from the App and accept the system permission prompt. If access was previously denied, open the iOS Settings app, find Metronome++, and enable the relevant media permission. The exact setting name and location may vary by iOS version.
How do I change song or setlist artwork?
Open the song or setlist editor and choose artwork from your photo library or Files, or take a photo. The App receives only the item you select through the system photo picker or document picker. Selected, imported, or captured artwork is stored locally on your device.
Why are haptics or flashlight feedback unavailable?
These options depend on device hardware and system availability. Haptics or the flashlight may not be supported on every device or may be temporarily unavailable. Flashlight feedback also cannot operate normally while another app or system feature is using the camera or torch.
Can the metronome play while other audio is playing?
Yes. Metronome++ is designed to play alongside other audio. Audio routing, volume, silent mode behavior, headphones, Bluetooth devices, and other apps can still affect what you hear.
Where is my data stored?
Songs, setlists, settings, and custom artwork are stored locally on your device. Metronome++ does not provide an account or its own cloud-sync service. For more information, read the Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my data?
Delete individual songs, setlists, or artwork with the controls available in the App. If the song database cannot be opened, the App may offer a reset option that permanently removes all saved song data. Metronome preferences are not affected by this reset. Deleting the App generally removes its local data, subject to Apple’s iOS backup and restore behavior.
How do I find the App version?
Open Metronome++ and go to Settings → About. Include that version number when contacting support.
