Privacy Policy for Metronome++

Metronome++ (the “App”) is developed by plus.design (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.

Summary

We do not operate a user-account system, and we do not receive personal data from the App or use analytics, advertising, or tracking technologies. Your songs, setlists, metronome settings, recent searches, and custom artwork are stored locally on your device.

The App uses Apple services when you choose to search Apple Music, view recently played music, load catalog information or artwork, or download an available song preview for BPM analysis. Those services are provided by Apple and are subject to Apple’s own privacy policy.

Information Handled by the App

Data stored on your device

The App may store the following information locally on your device:

This information is used only to provide the App’s features. We do not receive it, and the App does not upload it to a server operated by us.

Apple Music and network requests

If you grant Apple Music access, the App can use Apple’s MusicKit services to search the Apple Music catalog, display recently played music and catalog details, and retrieve available artwork and song previews. A downloaded preview is analyzed on your device to estimate its BPM and is removed from temporary storage after analysis or cleanup. Preview availability varies by song and region.

Requests to Apple services may be processed by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy. We do not receive your Apple Account credentials, Apple Music listening history, or search activity on our own servers because we do not operate a server for these features.

Photos, camera, and files

If you choose an image using the system photo picker or document picker, the App receives only the item you select. If you take a photo, the App requests camera access. Selected, imported, or captured images are processed and stored locally as custom artwork and are not uploaded to us.

Device features

The App may use audio playback, haptics, the flashlight, Live Activities, Dynamic Island, widgets, and system media controls to provide metronome playback and controls. We do not use these features to collect information about you.

Data Collection, Tracking, and Sharing

The App does not:

Apple may process information when its services are used, as described above. Apple’s handling of that information is governed by its own terms and privacy policy.

Data Retention and Deletion

Locally stored information remains on your device until you delete individual content in the App, reset the App’s song data where that option is available, or delete the App. Deleting the App generally removes its locally stored data, subject to iOS backup and restore behavior controlled by Apple and your device settings.

Temporary Apple Music preview files are removed after analysis or as part of the App’s temporary-file cleanup, including cleanup following cancellation or interruption. Custom artwork is removed when it is replaced or when the associated content is deleted, subject to normal local cleanup and backup behavior.

Because we do not receive your locally stored App data, you do not need to contact us to delete it from our systems.

Your Choices and Permissions

You can decline or revoke Apple Music or camera access at any time in the iOS Settings app. Revoking a permission may prevent the related feature from working, but the App’s basic metronome features remain available.

You control the songs, setlists, settings, and artwork saved in the App and can delete them using the App’s available controls. You can also delete the App to remove its local data from your device, subject to Apple’s backup and restore behavior.

Support Communications

If you contact us for support, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, App version, iOS version, and any attachments. We use this information only to respond to your request, investigate the issue, and maintain necessary support records. We retain it only for as long as reasonably needed for those purposes or to meet applicable legal obligations. You may ask us to delete a support conversation by contacting us at the address below, subject to any information we must retain by law.

Children’s Privacy

The App is not designed to collect personal information from children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information through the App. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through a support request, contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.

Security

The App relies on iOS security protections for locally stored data and uses Apple-provided services and secure network connections for Apple Music features. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we limit data handling by not operating an App backend and not collecting App analytics or advertising data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App’s features or data practices change. We will post the revised policy at this URL and update the “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects how the App handles information, we will provide notice as appropriate.
